THAT WAS THEN:Cleveland, March 28, 2011: The Ohio chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Ohio) today welcomed a decision by a school board in that state to cancel an anti-Islam Tea Party event featuring a speaker, Usama Dakdok, who claims Muslims are demons and that there is no good Muslim.
CAIR-Ohio, the NAACP, ACLU and other civil rights and interfaith groups scheduled a news conference this morning at the Board of Education in Mansfield, Ohio, to address the negative impact anti-Muslim hate speech would have on district students.
“We are strong supporters of the First Amendment right to free speech — even the kind of hate-filled speech used by Mr. Dakdok — but having this event in a public school creates the perception of official endorsement and will inevitably promote a hostile learning environment for students of diverse faiths, including Muslims,” said CAIR-Cleveland Executive Director Julia Shearson. “If Mr. Dakdok feels compelled to attack the faith of other Americans, there are more appropriate settings that will not violate the school district’s stated core belief that ‘all children deserve a safe learning environment.’”
She thanked the NAACP for challenging the inappropriate location for Dakdok’s speech. “I believe the district would rightfully never allow someone who claims there are no good Jews or African-Americans to speak in a school auditorium,” said Shearson. Shearson also called on national Tea Party leaders to repudiate the hate-filled actions of their local representatives.
Just before that news conference took place, Mansfield City Schools Superintendent Dan Freundwithdrew permission for the Mansfield North Central Ohio Tea Party Association to hold the event tonight at Mansfield Senior High School. The school district said it acted within its rights when it withdrew permission for the first event, and that it did so for student safety.
THIS IS NOW: Cleveland, Nov. 19, 2012: Usama Dakdok, whose presentation about Islam sparked a controversy here last year, will speak at 7 p.m. Dec. 10 at Mansfield Senior High School auditorium.
Mansfield News Journal The Mansfield North Central Ohio Tea Party Association reserved the school for the event. The tea party had scheduled Dakdok on March 28, 2011, until Mansfield City Schools Superintendent Dan Freund announced that morning the school would not host the event, citing safety concerns echoed by police about the number of people who might turn out to support or oppose Dakdok.
The tea party sued Mansfield City Schools in federal court, claiming the district violated its civil rights when it withdrew permission for the controversial tea party event to take place on school grounds. The Mansfield City Schools Board of Education voted unanimously last spring to accept a settlement with the local tea party group and dismiss the federal lawsuit. The settlement required the district to pay $21,000 for the tea party group’s legal costs.
USAMA DAKDOK: Infiltration of Islam in America?
Our friend, Usama Dakdok, returns to Mansfield to conduct a seminar entitled “Infiltration of Islam in America?” It begins at 7:00 PM, in the auditorium of Mansfield Senior High School, located at 124 North Linden Road, Mansfield, 44906.
Usama was born in Egypt and raised in a Christian home as the son of a Baptist pastor. He became a Christian at the age of eleven. Usama learned about Islam in school because it was, and still is, a mandatory subject. To further his knowledge of Islam, he studied Islamic law in college.
Usama holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology and a Master’s Degree in Missions from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. In 2001, Usama founded The Straight Way of Grace Ministry. He travels throughout the United States teaching Christians how to be effective witnesses of Jesus Christ to their Muslim neighbors, as well as ministering to Muslims directly.
In this chilling and challenging investigation into the continuing plan of Muslims to take over the West (and eventually the world) you will be shocked by the agencies and groups already in place within the United States that are dedicated to this cause. Featuring on-camera testimony from an FBI agent tasked with studying the activities of dangerous groups in the America, you will be alarmed to discover that Muslim extremists have gained prominent positions within the federal government, and have even trained our law enforcement personnel on methods of dealing with Muslims.
This family friendly event is open to the public. There is no admission charge. A freewill offering will be taken.
Usama has an urgent message America needs to hear.
