Sussex Police are asklng for public help to find a man who they want to to talk to about a serious assault on a woman in Hove.
34-year old Obert Ngwenya, also known as Obert Moyo, is sought for interview about an incident in New Church Road just after 1am on Sunday 26 August. A 25-year old Brighton woman, who had been working at an address in the same road, was found by neighbours and police in the road, in a very distressed state. She is currently receiving treatment for serious but not life threatening facial injuries at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
Ngwenya, who has been living in Brighton, but who also has links to Littlehampton, is described as black, about 5’7″, of proportionate build, andwith very short cropped hair.
Detective Inspector Mark Cullimore said; “The victim and the man we are seeking, whose photograph we are releasing today, are known to each other, and we believe her injuries were caused between the address where she was working and the street. Anyone who sees him, or who knows where he might be, is asked to contact us immediately via 999 quoting serial 0091 of 26/8. Please do not approach him yourself, just get in touch with us at once.”
