On Sat North West National Front held a peaceful demo inside Rochdale Town Hall.
Referring to the recent grooming cases the Leader of Rochdale Council Colin Lambert came out with the statement that “Rochdale Council have let down the children of Heywood”. As Lambert is the leader of the Council we believe Lambert should do the honourable thing and resign so we had a banner made calling for his resignation and on Saturday as the Town Hall was open to the public due to the Olympic torch visiting Rochdale 25-30 of us went in in twos and threes and we occupied the main stairs going up to the Grand Ball room, we unfurled our National Front banners and sat there for about half an hour. The look on the Councillors and the public’s faces was a picture, we were asked to leave by the security company but we politely declined and occupied the stairs until the Police came, we then wrapped up the banners and left the building
A great morning was had by all.
